Personal Emergence
(Equine Experiential Learning)No need to go forward with your head down. Thrive vs. survive.
There are many leadership and team building courses available, but very few integrate all three domains of adult learning - language, emotions and the body.
"Stepping Through the Gate" offers selected experiential learning sessions involving horses, challenge events, somatic movement, and language where big breakthroughs in behavior can be achieved.
We help people forward toward their career / business objectives and personal dreams by moving through their confusion, fear and self-doubt.
Step boldly – both professionally and personally.
Fear and self-doubt come up for most of us in challenging and difficult transition times.
Unknown to many of us is how important it is to have emotion, presence and a body for action to manifest our goals and dreams. Traditionally people have tried to move themselves forward through will power, positive thinking, knowledge, commitments and goals. While these processes work, in many important situations we are still blocked from taking action by our fear and self-doubt.
Why Horses?
Different from humans, horses no agenda when they deliver their feedback. They are primarily mirroring back what our body language and energy tells them. Their sensitivity and lack of agenda makes them especially effective “guides” for people who are open to learn and grow.
What is learned in working with the horse is directly transferable to working with our fellow human beings. Through the combination of experiential learning and feedback from an equine guide and human coaches, participants become aware of their authentic self and develop a presence, body and ability to extend their energy for positive action.
Many participants report that their ability to move forward to achieve their goals and dreams is greatly enhanced by their experience with the horse. They’ve learned how to step through the gates (the barriers) that have held them back.
What is EAL? Why is Equine Assisted Learning So Successful?
EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) is an experiential learning process that stays with you, much like your experience of learning to ride a bike, fly fish or play golf. You get better with practice, but once you have the successful experience in your body, you can access it when you need to. Different than many other courses, the experience you get working with the horse enables you to bring forth an honest awareness of your areas of confusion, anxieties and limiting beliefs impacting your ability to reach your goals.
Through the combination of exercises with the horses, and insight from the human coaches, you will clarify your aspirations and will get in touch with the hidden beliefs that are holding you back. By addressing these deeper issues in an experiential learning setting with the horse and a coach, you will experience how learning at the physical level in the body, combined with the creative power of language will help you move through transition more effectively and efficiently.
Many participants report that their ability to move forward to achieve their goals and dreams greatly enhanced by their experience with the horse. They’ve learned how to step through the gates (the barriers) that have held them back.
